Purpose: Our trip to Spain will mostly be spent in the Andalusia area of Spain which covers many of the great historical sites of Spain. We will also spend time in the capital, Madrid and in the amazing city of Barcelona. Much of Spain is Catholic although there are some historical Jewish sites that we will see as well. It is difficult to make this a “Christian trip” as not much took place there from a Protestant perspective. However, we will cover some of the most important Christian sites. The fellowship that we will share as we travel will be one of the best parts of the trip!
Trip Overview
We will spend much of our time in the Andalusia area of Spain (See map here, but will also include Madrid and Barcelona.)
— Reuben Nevo will be our bus guide and we will have city guides at various places as well.
— The itinerary (and trip price) includes a flight from Granada to Barcelona which saves us a full day on the bus.
— Much like our recent trip to France, following Christianity in Spain is difficult, but we will do our best to highlight our faith throughout our trip with some teaching, visiting of churches, and, of course, Christian fellowship.
Remember that the Apostle Paul was one of the first to take Christianity to Spain.
— Romans 15:24 I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while.
— Romans 15:28 When therefore I have completed this and have delivered to them what has been collected, I will leave for Spain by way of you.
Trip Details
— 15 days including travel days.
— 13 nights of lodging in 5 star hotels where possible. - (Madrid, 3; Cordoba, 3; Ronda, 2; Granada, 2; Barcelona, 3.)
— Our first group event will be dinner at our hotel in Madrid on April 10th
FLIGHTS — You will fly into MADRID leaving no later than April 9th from the US and then fly home (or your next destination) from BARCELONA on April 23 (or later if you want to spend some extra time there).
A quick search showed a flight for about $1,100 round-trip from Fort Wayne.
A flight with similar times from Detroit was $857. (These are both basic economy on American Airlines)
